Punjab unit of the Congress on Wednesday accused Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann-led state authorities of harassing late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala’s mother and father after they welcomed a child boy on March 17.
Whereas addressing a press convention, Partap Singh Bajwa, Chief of Opposition within the Punjab Meeting, alleged that the AAP-led authorities is taking motion in opposition to Balkaur Singh’s household on the behest of the Centre.
“The notice to Sidhu Moose Wala’s family has gone from the Union Health Ministry via the Punjab government. In 75 years, how many such letters have gone to individuals for such violations? I bet no one knew about the age limit before. At times, men become fathers at the age of 75. This is nothing but hatred against Moose Wala’s family and Punjab,” Bajwa stated.
Balkaur Singh and his spouse Charan Kaur welcomed a child boy on March 17, almost two years after Sidhu Moosewala was shot lifeless in Mansa district. The couple opted for the In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) methodology to conceive the child.
Notably, the Union Well being Ministry has sought from the Punjab authorities an in depth report on the IVF remedy of Kaur.
The ministry has flagged the age of Kaur, stating that as per regulation the age restrict for a girl present process Assisted Reproductive Know-how (ART) companies is between 21 and 50 years.
Moosewala’s father is aged round 60, whereas his mom, Charan Kaur, is 58-years-old.
The Union Well being Ministry has sought a report from the Punjab authorities citing a media report which talked about that Kaur underwent IVF remedy on the age of 58.
“Under Section 21(g) (i) of the Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Act, 2021, the age limit prescribed for a woman going under ART services is between 21-50 years. Therefore, you are requested to look into the matter and submit a report to this department of the action taken in this case as per the ART (Regulation) Act, 2021,” the communication despatched on March 14 stated.
In an Instagram submit, Balkaur Singh alleged that the administration was harassing him to show that the kid was authorized.
“The administration has been harassing me since morning, asking me to furnish documents of the baby. They are posing me several questions, asking me to prove that this child is legal.” Within the video, he requested the Punjab authorities, “particularly CM ‘saab’ (Bhagwant Mann), let the treatment be completed. I hail from this place and will come wherever you call me”.
