Former BJP MP from Jalgaon Unmesh Patil, who joined Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena on Wednesday, stated that in his stint in ‘Mahayuti’, the ruling alliance in Maharashtra, he had protested towards NCP chief Ajit Pawar for his alleged involvement in irrigation rip-off and Ashok Chavan for the Adarsh housing rip-off case.
Unmesh Patil give up the BJP after he was denied a ticket from Jalgaon. The celebration has fielded Smita Wagh in his place this time.
Talking about his rationale for the swap weeks earlier than the Lok Sabha elections, Patil stated, “If I go to people asking for votes, they will throw stones at me. We want to work for the politics of change and not politics of revenge. People are confused as to what is happening. At the same time, issues of irrigation in Northern Maharashtra are the same. I have taken this decision to give basic facilities to people”.
A day after Patil joined Shiv Sena (UBT), the celebration fielded his shut aide Karan Pawar from the Jalgaon seat. Karan Pawar is a former president of Parola Municipal Council in Jalgaon district.
After becoming a member of the Shiv Sena (UBT) together with Patil, Karan Pawar said that round 100 sarpanchs and plenty of different native elected representatives will be part of the Uddhav camp quickly.
Notably, the BJP has held Jalgaon since 1999, marking this election as the primary the place a Sena faction will problem the BJP candidate.
Patil criticised the BJP’s deal with numerical energy over rules, stating, “We are here to do politics of self-respect. There is a difference between the BJP, which was under Atal Bihar Vajpayee, and what it is today. My decision to quit BJP was not for personal gain, but to take good work forward”.
Patil joined the Sena (UBT) at ‘Matoshree’, the residence of celebration head and former state Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in suburban Mumbai.
