The Centre on Monday stated that private data of an air passenger is saved within the cell pockets of the traveller, and there’s no centralised storage of the data. In a written reply to a query concerning the information privateness issues in Digi Yatra app, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Normal VK Singh (Retd) stated that the Digi Yatra Central Ecosystem (DYCE) is constructed on the basic tenets of privateness by design and default and there’s no central storage of passenger’s Personally Identifiable Info (PII) information.
